About the Author(s)

General editor Elizabeth Rholetter Purdy earned a B.A. in political science graduating summa cum laude from Columbus College, an M.A. from Emory University as a Phi Kappa Phi fellow, and a Ph.D. in political science from Georgia State University. She has published articles on subjects ranging from political science and women's studies to economics and popular culture.
