Summary

There are two main types of diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2. Though each one affects insulin differently, both result in high blood sugar levels. People with Type 1 diabetes must take insulin injections, which may have a significant impact on their day-to-day life and activities, while those with Type 2 diabetes can often be treated with diet and medication.

A user-friendly and accessible guide for teens living with the disease or who have diabetic family or friends, Living with Diabetes examines various real-life cases and treatments currently available. Sidebars highlighting key points of interest, along with appendixes listing helpful organizations, support groups, online resources, and further reading complete this informative reference work.
