About the Author(s)
Neil Schlager, who edited this edition with Jayne Weisblatt, is the founder and president of the Schlager Group. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the University of Denver Publishing Institute. After a long career with the Gale Group, during which he served as managing editor of the Multicultural Team and senior editor of New Product Development, he founded the Schlager Group in 1997. His publications have won numerous awards, including three RUSA awards from the American Library Association, two Booklist/RBB Editors' Choice awards, two New York Public Library Outstanding Reference awards, and a Choice Outstanding Academic Title award.
Jayne Weisblatt received an M.A. in English literature from Miami University, Oxford, OH. Before joining the Schlager Group, she was an editor at Iowa State University Press.
Orlando J. Pérez, Ph.D., is associate professor of political science at Central Michigan University, where he teaches courses in comparative politics, Latin American politics, and U.S.-Latin America relations.
