Joseph A. Biesinger received a Ph.D. from Rutgers University and is professor emeritus at Eastern Kentucky University. He is the author or editor of several volumes, including Controversial Concordats: The Vatican’s Relations with Napoleon, Mussolini, and Hitler, as well as many articles dealing with German history. He lives in Chicago, Illinois.
