Summary

The Tet Offensive tested, and ultimately ended, the resolve of the U.S. military leaders to win the war in Vietnam. The Vietcong’s offensive against cities in South Vietnam, including the capital of Saigon, was beaten back by U.S. forces, but the show of strength by the North Vietnamese increased protests against the war in the States. President Richard Nixon eventually brought U.S. troops home.
